I wanted to use a folder of non-iPhoto pictures as a screensaver under Snow Leopard, and I couldn’t figure out how. It wasn’t listed under “Pictures” anymore, and quick Googling didn’t turn up anything. Turns out in Snow Leopard it’s been moved under the “+” button-menu:

I got a new 21.5″ iMac a little over a month ago and it came with one of the tiny Apple Wireless Keyboards. The bluetooth connection between them started being flakey about a week ago. The iMac would lose connection with the keyboard at random and usually reconnect after a minute or two. The first few times it happened when I shifted my keyboard, but then it started happening when I moved my Magic Mouse. I thought my batteries might be low, but Snow Leopard’s Keyboard preference pane reported 70% battery. I was sad that I would have to take my shiny new toys back to the Apple store, until I glanced at the side of the keyboard one day and noticed that the battery screw cover was loose. I tightened it and it’s been fine ever since.

So if you have a flakey Apple Wireless Keyboard, check the battery cover. When tightened, it should be parallel to the plane of the keyboard.

I got a papercut from a flyer advertising the nook.
